Apostilles
In 1961 the Hague Convention simplified the manner in which documents are legalized for international use.  Members of the conference, referred to as the Hague Convention, adopted a document referred to as an Apostille.  The Apostille is recognized by all member nations.

T
he United States is a member of the Hague Convention; therefore, documents originating in the United States can be submitted directly to member nations after being completed with an Apostille. Please note that the country of destination determines whether the authentication is an Apostille or Certification.

What is an Apostille?
An Apostille (pronounced "ah-po-steel") is a specialized certificate issued by the California Secretary of State that proves the authenticity of a Notary's signature and seal.  It is an official state government certification and is a full 8 1/2" x 11" page certificate, not simply a seal.  An Apostille is attached to a notarized document as proof of authentication when that document is being sent to a country which abides by the Hague Convention.

Who issues an Apostille?

After reviewing the document and validating its legitimacy, the Apostille certification is issued by the Office of the Secretary of State.  The Apostille is permanently attached, and cannot be removed or separated from the original document.

What can Kosak Signing Service provide for me?

We are a private service provider experienced in processing Apostille certification services to the public.  Our associate goes to the state government offices on your behalf, stands in line, completes any applications, pay the Apostille fees and waits until the certification is completed.  This service is both cost-effective and time-saving. You can track your return order with UPS or Fedex online, from the comfort of your home or office.

Is an Apostille different for different countries or different documents?
All Apostille certificates will look the same for all the countries you request an Apostille for. There is no difference between an Apostille which will be used for Mexico and an Apostille for Russia.  Similarly, there is no difference between an Apostille for a Birth Certificate and an Apostille for a Marriage Certificate, or a Power of Attorney, or a Court Divorce Decree. The Apostille will look the same. However, a few countries have a different requirement other than an Apostille, and your document would receive a Legalization Certificate instead.
